In 1968 ELCAN custom built, ultra-high speed lenses for X-Ray applications and has continued to serve world leaders in the medical optoelectronic industry by developing and supplying:

One of the great attributes of ELCAN's manufacturing capabilities is its versatility and ability to readily adapt to new markets and technologies. ELCAN's breakthrough in the medical optoelectronic industry came in 1987 with a contract award for the development and manufacture of the auto focus module used in a digital laser print head for medical imaging. Based on ELCAN's successful performance, this contract evolved into a multiphase requirement ELCAN supplied the module itself and also manufactured of the entire print head.
