ELCAN Optical Technologies manufactures a number of products sold under the ELCAN® trademark. Our design and production resources are available for the development of OEM products for major equipment manufacturers as well as subcontractors and contractors for various civilian and defense projects.
| Examples are the design, development and manufacture of the ELCAN® optical sight product line, a new range of cinematographic lenses for a leading North American motion-picture equipment company, and thermal vision systems. ELCAN has also designed and custom-built the lenses for IMAX®, IMAX® Dome and IMAX 3D® projection and camera systems.
A special challenge in the IMAX® projection is the high operating temperature created by the 15kW light source. Our designers overcame the problem by an unusual two-part configuration, heat-reflecting coatings and, in some critical elements, by the use of special optical glass.
